In connection with the increased loads on the roads, which leads to the rapid destruction of the pavement, it is necessary to conduct research to identify the causes of the destruction and make optimal decisions to solve this problem.
The main directions of bituminous technologies today are the reduction of energy intensity by lowering the temperatures of technological processes and the improvement of environmental safety by reducing emissions of harmful hydrocarbons into atmospheric air. At the same time, it is assumed that new technological solutions will not lead to a deterioration in the quality of bitumen and materials based on it. One of the options to solve the problem is the introduction of modifiers in the bitumen or directly in the asphalt concrete, designed to improve the mechanical characteristics in the region of moderate operating temperatures and reduce the viscosity of the binder at high process temperatures.
